22 May 2012

Sofiyska Voda informs its customers and the city residents that the earthquake at 3.00 pm this night and the subsequent secondary aftershocks did not cause serious failures across the WSS network, to the reservoirs and the treatment plants. Several weak leaks were registered, which do not disturb the normal water supply in the capital, and they will be repaired by the end of the day.

Teams from Sofiyska Voda made immediately an inspection of the dam wall of Beli Iskar Dam and it showed that there were no effects or damages to the entirety and stability of the dam wall. Today another detailed inspection is going to be made of the dam wall and the technical facilities ensuring the water supply to Sofia. Currently, the dam is half full. The dam wall is equipped with modern control-metering system which provides real-time registering of the technical reliability of the facility.
