Sofiyska Voda restored the work of the pumping station in Biser village

Today, May 8th, 2012 (Tuesday) a team of Sofiyska Voda JSC restored the normal work of the electrical equipment and the pumps for irrigation at the pumping station of Biser village. The event was attended by the mayor of Biser village, Mrs. Zlatka Angelova. Experts from the company repaired the irrigation facilities, which were badly damaged by the wave that flooded the village on February 6th after the dam wall broke.

“I am sincerely grateful to the employees and the management of Sofiyska Voda JSC for their support at this time of difficulty”, shared Mrs. Angelova, immediately after the restart of the pumps. 

Immediately after the tragic event, Sofiyska Voda proposed to the set up crisis headquarter and the regional administration technical expertise, trained teams and equipment to ensure technical support in the reconstruction of the facilities related to the water supply and the sewerage of the settlements affected by the floods. The regional administration requested the restoration of the normal functioning of the pumping station as it provides water for irrigation of the agricultural land, which is vital for the means of living of the local population.

A campaign was organized among the employees of Sofiyska Voda JSC for collecting money to support the people affected by the flood and the amount was transferred to the account designated for the partial restoration of the damaged homes.
